Policy programme "Building materials sustainably in cycles" (2014-2020)

The emphasis is on recycling and reuse of materials in the construction cycle. New in this plan is the focus on the environmental impact of the entire lifecycle of a structure and the search for opportunities to design and execute adaptable structures over time. The need for resource efficiency and interventions to mitigate climate change are the key drivers. Energy renovations are both an opportunity and a threat to sustainable material management. In the new policy programme, currently under development, the focus has shifted to the development of a circular (construction) economy.
