Closing loops for less plastic waste

Cmartlife is an integrated LIFE project in which the 7 partners are committed to closing material cycles to reduce the amount of residual waste and create a litter-free environment in Flanders and beyond.

Cmartlife is a LIFE integrated project that commits to closing material loops in order to meet waste management and marine litter targets, with a specific focus on accelerating and strengthening the Plastics Implementation Plan.

Cmartlife stands for ‘Circular Material Approach on Residual waste Targets and a Litter Free Environment’. The project works as an accelerator for the transition to sustainable materials management and a circular economy in Flanders.

Central to the project is the reduction of residual waste (household and comparable business waste) by 15% by 2027. Cmartlife aims to achieve this goal by working together with the project partners. OVAM coordinates this collaboration, which will run from 2020 until the end of 2027.
